The bitmaps are a little different from the normal vector like my previous posts. A bitmap is a grid (each square on the grid is filled with color) and this makes them unperformed scaling files. A vector however, is lines and colors that are easier to scale without the worry of eventually seeing the grid itself (as in the case of a bitmap). In this specific case, we took pictures from our computers and "Imported To Stage" instead of just opening the files manually. Then, we created our "symbols" and then our Motion Tweens and allowed them to be manipulated and spun. In the end, we added some "Alpha" - the transparency that makes them fade - to the pictures and "Eased" them in and out.

Car Moving.swf...
In this .swf, we made use of the "Ease" effect once again as the car slows down, then we had to make something called a "Motion Tween" which creates the in between pictures of a moving object from start to finish. In order to make the car slow down and "ease" to a stop, we used the "Ease - out" function, and the "Ease - in" to make it speed up from a stop. In order to make a Motion Tween, however, we needed to make the base of the car, the wheels in this case, into something called a "Symbol" that allowed us to create copies of it easily without affecting the timeline. Also, it allowed us to make changes to this "Symbol" without affecting the main timeline of the animation. We could go inside the symbol and change it there instead (which is where I drew my car).

Gradient Ball...
This is a gradient ball we had to make that made use of an application called "Ease" which allowed something in flash to have a similar effect of gravity as it slowed down and sped up (Ease - out/in).

New blog, new class,,,
The .png file...
Embeding an .swf file...
This is the .swf that I made early on in the year. I had to make a gradient ball movie across the screen while at the same time allowing a shadow to be cast from it. Then we were to find a way to embed it onto this blogger website. That process included creating a sites.Google.com page to upload the files to and then creating a link to that file through my sites.Google.com page through blogger and putting that link into an HTML form and embedding it into a blog post.
This class so far...
My animation class is always so much fun to be in. (Not just saying that either :D) Anyways, learning about Flash and how to animate things like a bird or a frog are things I never dreamed I would be able to do. It sounded so hard to do, but the way Mr. B (the teacher) explained it was easy to understand. Now that i know how to do it, I feel like i could do anything in this class. With what I know now, I can use a tablet, or even just the mouse, to draw a picture in certain select frames and then animate them and make them come to life. Can't wait for the next one!
